I remember walking through Disney Springs in Orlando with my husband years ago – back when it was still Downtown Disney. They had a little left handed vender cart along the walkway, full of everyday items. Amused, I walked up to see what all the fuss was about. I picked up scissors, spiral notebooks and other odds and ends that were made especially for left handed people, thinking you might as well burn your money. As far as I was concerned, everyday stuff was used the same by left handed people as right handed people – like me. My left handed husband quickly corrected me, explaining how you have to learn to be a part of the right handed world. Learning how to use scissors by pulling while you push and adjust to having your hand covered in ink as it goes the opposite way across notebooks were just a few of the many conundrums lefties have to deal with on a daily basis. I seriously had no idea.
